Liverpool interested in highly-rated Aberdeen defensive starlet

Liverpool have been tracking Aberdeen teenager Calvin Ramsay and are considering a summer move for the rising star.

The promising talent has been impressing those visiting from the Reds, so much so that the Merseyside side are looking to bring the 18-year-old in as cover for first-choice Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back.

He made his Scottish Premiership debut for the Dons last year and has been a regular in the senior team this term, making 22 league outings.

The Sun state that the Reds fancy a move for the youngster as Calvin is a similar type of full-back to Trent, although clearly not at the academy graduate’s level just yet.

Obviously, Ramsay would have to settle for an understudy role should he move south of the border, but with Jurgen Klopp’s men still featuring in three competitions at this stage of the term, there will be opportunities to play.

Joe Gomez has operated as a right-back when needed, with Neco Williams out on loan at the Championship club Fulham this campaign.

If they brought in the Scottish from Aberdeen it looks likely that the Welshman could move on, with a permanent move to the Cottagers a possibility.
