Liverpool join race to sign €40m-rated La Liga forward

The German coach has reportedly been interested in Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio for some time now. Liverpool remain an option for Spain international, though it’s not clear if he will be leaving Los Blancos in the summer as it seems his current preference is to stay where he is.

The report notes that Marco would cost nearly €50m and is being eyed up by the Reds due to the doubts over both Salah and Mane at the moment. The Spanish winger could be a fine addition to this Reds squad if he does end up joining, though it would also be a slightly risky deal as well given his recent injury record.

The 26-year-old forward has missed a lot of playing time and he’s perhaps not looking quite as exciting a talent as he was a few years ago. The German tactician may well feel he could get Marco back to his best, but €50m perhaps seems like a lot to pay for the 26-year-old winger based on recent form.

Bayern Munich are interested in the Spanish attacker, though it stays to be seen if teams can persuade him to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
