Bayern Munich in bidding war for€80m-rated Liverpool winger
Liverpool are ready to receive a third bid from Bayern Munich for Sadio Mane. The Merseyside club had knocked back two previous offers from the Bundesliga giants, who stay confident that the latest proposal could be in line with the Reds’ demands for Senegal international.
The 30-year-old forward has already decided to leave Anfield and join the Bavarians as his preferred destination. However, the German club’s intentions were known well before the UCL final last month, and the Senegalese winger had responded positively.
After Liverpool’s loss to Real Madrid, the Senegalese seemingly confirmed his intention to depart, and the Bavarians have been at work ever since. The Bundesliga giants wanted to pay a similar price Liverpool paid for Thiago and reportedly had an early bid rejected.
The Reds’ demand went close to €50m, and the club did not want to sell Sadio for anything lower. Bayern Munich subsequently planned an improved offer of nearly €40m, hoping to convince Liverpool to agree on a move. But the Reds were left unimpressed by Bayern Munich’s latest offering and decided to peg back their latest bid.
However, those actions have prompted the Bundesliga club to consider an improved bid, and this time they are willing to go near the Reds’ valuation of the African attacker. Bayern Munich are now set to table a third bid worth closer to the €50m mark, and they are confident the Reds will accept their latest offer.
