Liverpool could miss out signing of 24-year-old explosive winger
Aston Villa have reportedly agreed a deal with Watford for highly-rated forward Ismaila Sarr worth £25million plus add-ons.
Sarr has been rumoured with leaving Vicarage Road for some time, and in recent weeks had been attracting interest from several Premier League teams including Crystal Palace, Leeds and Man Utd.
The 24-year-old had also been touted for a move to Liverpool prior to joining the Hornets in 2019 from Rennes and the Reds tried to sign him in the current transfer window as well, however, it seems that he has choosed to sign for Aston Villa.
According to Sky Sports, the Villans have won the race for Sarr, who was left out of the Hornets’ Championship clash with Preston North End on Saturday, although according to his manager Rob Edwards this was down to injury rather than transfer speculation.
Sarr has found back of the net 10 times and made eight assists in two Premier League games for Watford and was also part of the Senegal team that won the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.
He has already made quite an impact this term, scoring from the halfway line against West Brom earlier in August.
He looks set to become Villa’s sixth additon of the summer after Diego Carlos, Philippe Coutinho, Robin Olsen, Ludwig Augustinsson and Boubacar Kamara.
