Paul Merson sums up Roberto Firmino display for Liverpool in two words

Paul Merson has raved about Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino on Sky Sports Premier League (5:15pm, August 27, 2022) for his performance against Bournemouth at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday.

The former Arsenal star believes that Brazil international forward Firmino was “absolutely outstanding” for Liverpool in their 9-0 hammering of the Cherries.

The 30-year-old scored two goals and gave three assists.

Merson said about Firmino on Sky Sports Premier League (5:15pm, August 27, 2022): “Firmino was back to where he was two or three years ago. He knitted everything together. He was absolutely outstanding.”

In our view, Roberto Firmino was brilliant for Liverpool in their easy win against Bournemouth at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday.

Now, of course, some will say that it was ‘only’ Bournemouth, a promoted club who could end up getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

However, you can only beat what’s in front of it.

Firmino has not had the best of times recently, with injuries and competition for places.

But, the Brazilian showed against the Cherries yesterday that he remains a player Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp can rely upon.

For Liverpool to win the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League this season, Firmino will have to be on top of his game throughout.
