Liverpool planning to offer new contract to£100,000-a-week forward
Liverpool are set to reward Sadio Mane for his explosive displays and his services over the years by offering him a new contract. Senegal international has only over 12 months remaining on his current deal at Liverpool, leading many to speculate about a possible exit in the summer.
The Reds, though, have no intention to offload one of their attacking assets. Mane himself is believed to be keen on prolonging his stay at Liverpool and feels he deserves a lucrative new contract to boot. Since joining the Reds in 2016, Sadio has racked up 115 goals and 45 assists in only 259 competitive games.
His fantastic productivity in the final third has been critical in helping the Reds seal the PL and the UCL title, among other major trophies.
The 30-year-old forward’s 18 goals this term have even helped Liverpool stand the opportunity of winning the quadruple, with the Reds still alive in all the three major tournaments whilst securing the Carabao Cup earlier in the season.
However, the report suggests the Reds are not willing to break the bank for the Senegalese forward. Despite all his success, though, the Reds have appeared reluctant to offer a new contract to any of their two trusted wingers in Mane and Salah.
But it looks there has been a shift instance in recent weeks, with Liverpool reportedly closing in on a new contract with Mohamed Salah, while they are also prepared to offer a new contract to Sadio Mane as well.
