Report: Liverpool now believe ‘excellent’ talent is way ahead of schedule in his development
Jurgen Klopp’s side are already six points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, and started their Champions League campaign disastrously.
Klopp has given several of Liverpool’s young stars plenty of opportunities this season.
Harvey Elliott has arguably been the Reds best midfielder this season, as Klopp deals with a number of injuries.
New signing Fabio Carvalho has also impressed in several cameos, and scored a massive last-minute winner against Newcastle.
However, the report from the Liverpool Echo says the club are already really impressed with 17-year-old Stefan Bajcetic.
The report suggests that some sources at the club think Bajcetic is ‘well ahead of his long-term schedule’.
Liverpool fans have already seen a glimpse of Bajcetic in action for the first team.
The versatile defender, who can also play in midfield, came on against Bournemouth for this Premier League debut.
The young Spaniard has been on the bench for all of Liverpool’s matches this season.
This has limited his minutes for the under-21s, but coach Barry Lewtas believes he’s getting, “the best of both worlds at the minute.”
The ‘excellent’ 17-year-old’s development is being monitored closely, and Liverpool are ‘reluctant’ to rush him into action too soon.
Bajcetic has adapted since his move from Celta Vigo in 2021 fantastically.
The Spanish under-18 international has kicked on much faster than anyone expected.
Liverpool may consider a loan move for the 17-year-old next season, but for now, Bajcetic is well ahead of schedule at Liverpool and his coaches will want to monitor his development closely.
