LIVERPOOL COULD NOW BID FOR £60M PLAYER AFTER REAL MADRID DEVELOPMENT

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will now try to sign Kalvin Phillips from Leeds United after missing out on Aurelien Tchouameni to Real Madrid, according to the Sunday Mirror (5/6; page 73).

The report has claimed that Liverpool are targeting Leeds and England international midfielder Phillips this summer.

The Reds wanted to sign France international Tchouameni from AS Monaco, but the defensive midfielder is reportedly set to move to Spanish giants Madrid for £70 million.

So, according to the Sunday Mirror (5/6; page 73), Liverpool are planning a bid for Phillips, who is valued at £60 million by his club Leeds

Premier League champions Manchester City are also reported to be keen on the 26-year-old.

KALVIN PHILLIPS WOULD BE GREAT FOR LIVERPOOL

In our view, Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips would be a brilliant signing for Liverpool.

Phillips has been superb for Leeds in the Premier League, and he is now also a regular in the England team.

The Leeds ace is 26 now, which means that his best years are ahead of him.

Phillips is a very dynamic and combative player who can hold his own in the middle of the park and also push the team forward.

We think that Phillips would make Liverpool better.
