Real Madrid in bidding war for €80m-rated Liverpool long-term target
Real Madrid will look to open direct negotiations with Jude Bellingham to move quickly in the battle to add the international in the summer transfer window of 2023. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder is also a target for Liverpool and Man United.
England international has become one of the hottest properties in Europe after three years of producing world-class displays at the club level despite still being in his teens. Bellingham first burst into the limelight as a 16-year-old prodigy at Birmingham City before Borussia Dortmund snapped him up two years ago.
Jude has since become a pivotal figure for club and country, raking in ten goals and 18 assists in 90 games for the Bundesliga giants. But the 18-year-old midfielder’s progress has captured the attention of some of the most high-profile teams in Europe, with Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Man United among the teams keen on signing him.
The interest from Real Madrid stems from the advancing years of Modric and Kroos. Modric, in particular, is in the twilight of his glittering career, and Los Blancos will need to phase out the Croatian star to ensure a seamless transition to the next generation. And the English midfielder has emerged as a viable target for La Liga giants.
As for Liverpool, the Englishman could be a long-term successor for Thiago, with the Spanish midfielder on the wrong side of 30. In addition, Milner is approaching the end of his career, meaning the Reds will need to invest in a young midfielder.
