‘I feel sorry for him’: Liverpool told injury is 'frustrating' for 28-year-old

Jose Enrique has shared on his Instagram story that he ‘feels sorry’ for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after he picked up a hamstring injury for Liverpool.

The former left-back added that this recent setback for Oxlade-Chamberlain will be ‘frustrating’ for the player given what he has had to go through.

The 2022/23 Premier League season is around the corner, as fans, managers and players will be excited about what’s coming.

But, not for someone like Oxlade-Chamberlain, because he picked up a ‘serious’ hamstring injury, which is set to keep him out for a while.

There just isn’t any luck that is headed the Englishman ways, as Enrique sympathised with the midfielder.

‘I feel sorry for Ox because nothing he can do about it,” said Enrique. “I know how frustrating it will be for him.”

During Lallana’s time on Merseyside, he also suffered the same issues as the Ox and he just couldn’t shake it off.

Given the nature of someone like Jurgen Klopp, he stuck with Lallana right until the end, before he secured a free transfer to Brighton.

During his time at the Amex Stadium, for the majority, he has stayed out of the treatment room, as he has helped Graham Potter’s side to a number of healthy finishes, including a top-half finish last season.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has one-year left on his contract and heading towards a new environment is perhaps the best option for the player.

Perhaps going to the other side of the South Coast and signing for his former side, Southampton, where there will be less pressure and heat, which would help him in getting back to his best.
