Report: Real Madrid now desperate for £42m Liverpool target after Kylian Mbappe blow

Real Madrid are now desperate to sign Liverpool target Aurelien Tchouameni after suffering a blow in their quest to bring Kylian Mbappe, according to Marca.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are interested in signing AS Monaco midfielder Tchouameni in the summer transfer window, according to a report in 90min this month.

Monaco value the 22-year-old France international midfielder at £42 million, according to French football journalist Jonathan Johnson in The Liverpool Echo.

Marca have reported that with France international forward Mbappe deciding to stay at Paris Saint-Germain despite a big offer from Madrid, the La Liga champions have now made bringing in Tchouameni their main priority.

In our opinion, Real Madrid now reportedly being keen on signing Aurelien Tchouameni from AS Monaco is a blow for Liverpool.

Marca have reported that Madrid had earlier told the youngster to wait, as the 22-year-old would not play in Carlo Ancelotti’s first team straightaway.

After all, Madrid are well stocked in midfield.

Now, with Los Blancos determined to sign Tchouameni, they could make an offer too tempting for the youngster to resist.

Liverpool also have a strong midfield department, and it would not be easy for Tchouameni to get into Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup either.
