Report: Club willing to pay all of Liverpool 26-year-old’s wages to get him in on loan

According to an article penned by Alan Nixon on his Patreon, Blackburn Rovers are pushing incredibly hard to bring Liverpool defender Ben Davies in on loan.

The centre-back is yet to make his senior debut for the Reds after joining the club in January 2021, and after being left out of the club’s pre-season tour, it’s fair to say that his days at Anfield may be numbered.

Davies spent last season out on loan at Sheffield United, and it seems as though another temporary move to the Championship could be on the cards.

Indeed, according to this article, Blackburn are willing to pay Davies’ wages as well as an additional loan fee in order to bring him to Ewood Park this season.

This would be something of a controversial move as Davies was previously a star at Blackburn’s Lancashire rivals Preston North End.

Rovers apparently see Davies playing a key role next season and they hope that they can get this one done rather quickly.
Who knows? Perhaps this loan could eventually lead to a permanent move for Davies. After all, he’s unlikely to have any sort of future at Anfield, and if Blackburn can improve on last season, they may well be playoff contenders.

All in all, this could be a good move for Davies as he looks to reignite his career away from Anfield.
